    Shrimps enjoying their food

It's fun to watch them gather

Is the above food good enough as a daily staple? Or should I mix some CRS food?

I don't think ADA will market this plastic fan ADA would probably come up with a brushed aluminium or non-directional stainless steel version to justify for the price (which many of us are willing to pay)

It's actually not that small, regular size. Dymax bought from NA.

Tank is running nicely for the past week... plants are looking fine too (under 3W of LEDs)... the shrimps are also surviving well

Added a pair of higher-grade CRS 2 days ago... will not add too many as I just need a focal point in the tank

You forgotten to seal your OHF inlet with sponge, your shrimp may go in. You may find alot of small shrimp inside having party.

Thanks for the reminder... I actually transfered this sponge over to the Kienke tank to trap fries I have reduced the flow of the HOB anyway... the suction is rather weak for this tank as the shrimps seem more comfortable that way.

The Glossostigmas are not doing too well... growth is stunted and some leaves turned brown

But I'm glad to see a few new runners stretching out.

To make the gravel more fertile... I added 1/2 tablet into the gravel at the center of the Glossostigma colony. Hopefully it will make a difference. Will update again soon

Decided to upgrade the filtration capacity for this tank as the current Eheim Liberty HOB doesn't provide much of permanent bacteria housing.

Ok that's just an excuse... the fact is I can't resist this little guy

    It's so cute

    Eheim 2211 (baby)

It's significantly smaller than Ecco actually... but I guess it's still much better than my HOB

Disappointingly, the canister only comes with 2 thin pieces of sponge... no media

Actually it's not a problem for me as I am using back the matured bacteria housing from my Eheim ProII. I have to take extra precaution to avoid wiping off the bacteria.

Put them in a stocking bag for easier maintenance later

It stands next to my tank... almost zero head loss

I can't have tight-fit hose as I need to allow for the tank lid to open

It's less neat that way but this portion is blocked by my LCD monitor... so it's ok

With the usual rainbar (smaller version)... the flow is perfect for a 1ft tank! A bit weak for a standard 2 feet

Emm... it's so small... I guess I can lift the whole thing (canister plus all the tubes) and dismantle in the bathroom I think that will work

Bought this model maybe about 15 years old and it still works! Just that its a real pain to maintain.
Oh! I didn't know this model has been around for 15 years I thought it's a recently developed product to jump-the-nano-bandwagon

You can add those quick realease valve. So you do not need to dismantle the tube during maintenance.

My 2217 is since 1995, beside external cosmetic, it is still in good condition. I got it for free from my coleague, I only need to change the o-ring.

I have removed the 100W heater also... this tank is back on track with a total of 8W consumption:

    1) LED light 3W total
    2) Eheim 2211 5W

I do run a fan during Sat and Sun... maybe add another 2W to the overall
