I am thinking of setting up a planted tank 3ft. Can any good bro here help me on what kind of equipments/soil to purchase?

Well, for a start you can post in relavant section.
This is the "Members' Introductions" section.

Do tell us about yourself and maybe how you found AQ.
A good start is to read up similar threads (i.e. 3 ft planted scapes) in the Scaping section.
This way you can pick best practice from members who have done it.
And you will also find some gems like what certain plants species require and can your setup handle them.
After that, you can start your own thread with ideas and solicit for dieas and comments.
This thread will also serve as a journal for your planted scape journey in future.
