    Hi all,

may i ask what or how to count if there is enough lighting for my tank.

I don't quite understand about the watt per litre thing.

Please kindly guild me to some topic about it.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ivan,

On the top right hand corner of AQ is a link to some useful calculators. The link is "Aquarium Calculator". Use that to calculate the total volume of your tank.

The rule of thumb is 2-3 watts per gallon but that's not applicable in some cases. Calculate your tank volume first, then tell us the amount of light you're providing.

    Cheers!

how big is your tank? are you planning for high or low tech? rule of thumb is 3W per gallon. you can use the AQ calculator to find out. However the 3W/gallon does not accurate for very big tank and very small tank.

My tank is 30x30x35 around 8 gallon. Currently growing some HC emsered.

I am now trying to get a lighting that is enough to support the plant. I will be using DIY Co2 for the tank.

So can tell me what type of lighting should i get?
