I saw some darter tetras today, auntie said it is the first time they're bringing the species in.

Another interesting fish is the empire "something" fish, I forgot what was the something lol. 1 pair is quite expensive.

And also I saw an AP. elizabethae male in a bag at the counter.

I wanted to buy some darter tetras but I thought I'd look for some info today before buying.

Is Hypseleotris compressa the ones kept in the moss tanks located behind the cashier table?

The ones kept with in the Betta racks (if they are still there) are definitely H. compressa. These are sub-adults or adults.

The ones in the moss tank near the cashier are pretty much juveniles. Some juvenile Hypseleotris spp. may look similar to each other. I haven't had the chance to counter check, but based on first impressions (which may be wrong), probably H. compressa.

Regardless, we don't get Hypseleotris spp. very often, so even if they aren't, they would still be a good catch. I won't mind they turning out to be H. klunzingeri or something else, if only I have a tank for them.

Those found in the moss tanks are showing extremely great colouration. Not too sure if they are juveniles but they do look small to me ..maybe about 3cm.

    H. compressa can grow up to 12 cm SL, so I would consider them juveniles.

BTW, quick visit to C328 yesterday, they have larger sized fishes around 6 to 7 cm SL next to the juveniles (perhaps new stock?).

P.S. Picked up something very interesting, Barbucca diabolica! Unfortunately, picked up the remaining two (one of them not doing well and I don't think it will last).

    Hi..

The fishes have been there since last week when someone in the forum say he spotted some tiger ottos.. It is housed at one of those betta tanks at the rack.. I went down to take a look.. That time there were about 4 pieces as well which I suspect is what the guy had mistaken these as tiger ottos..

I see.. There was a crowd in front of the betta tanks so I didn't take a closer look. Didn't expect to see loaches there. I will pay more attention next time. Thanks! Let me know secretly if you spot them again

Oh well, buying fish in pairs is really problematic, left a lonely one now after the other didn't make it.

Amazing that no one gives a second look at these wonderful gems. I wonder who took the other 2?
