Shake it from left to right gently and check the connecting points for any leakage or air intake....
Try to on the output to max to clear out the air or the other way round.
I did that when it happen to me....
All,
I have just purchased an Eheim 2026 to run my 264 litre tank. I purchased it to replace my Fluval 303, which mt wife complained was too noisy. I am in worse shape right now, as the Eheim Pro is making a ton of noise!
From what I can see, it looks like I am not able to get all of the air out of the cannister. I have been running it now for over 9 hrs, and I have primed it till my arms have gotten sore. When I look at the output tube, there seems to be stuttering, and you can see Air bubbles.
What can I be doing wrong ? Suggestions? Is this the appropriate forum (newbie)?

hmm happened to me as well..maybe its the piping or the sucking area ..
Yea, check that the piping is not jammed. Shaved it a few times. I remember one of my 2028 doing the same thing. I shook it many times, lots of air went out. Then found out my piping was a bit jammed too. then i did not bother shaking, it went away after a few days. Eheim filters run very very silently.
Cheers, Christophe
Try puting the outlet in the pail at ground level and run the filter. This should help to push the air out of the filter.
