nice arrangement of ferns. I noticed they are all tied vertically. Would this be a better way than say horizontally ?

Jervis, Yes, the ferns love it. I remember 2 years or so ago, when I use my first mh lights, i was so scared to burn them under the strong lights. BUt i think fern also enjoy high lights. They grow very fast in strong lights.

Torque, Tie vertically...hmm I just tied to the bog woods. and I did so many rescape with the bog wood, so now it was basically where i could fit the foot to have the scape. and the plants growth will follow. New leaves will go in the direction of light right. they are branchy. not too sure what you mean by tie horizontally.

Magic. yes running 2 eheim 2028 filters.

what i am trying with this tank is the plants on the right hand side.

I will have regular updates on this tank growth. Hope to buy a flash, and a macro lens.

    Cheers, Christophe

My poor downoi is completely eaten up. sob sob.

Managed to get my timer fixed, and now i have regular lighting period. I will do my best to let this scape mature.

Hopefully my E.tenellus lawn will pick up after I try to remove my barb. The roots and new sho0ts are there, except eaten up.

    Cheers, Christophe

Algae fighting stage! BBA attack. And my water flow and Co2 are cranked, all the time! Don't understand.

Getting BBA on my windelov ferns, some part of my substrate on the left hand side, and bba and spot algae on my fern in front.

Intend to do a blackout for 2 days. Not sure if that will help.

I have 4 small SAEs inside, just introduced last week. Do you think the tank can take more SAEs? How many do you think it can take? 8? I do not mind keeping SAEs, not just for the algae cleaning crew, but I like the fish as well.

The tank already has about 10 otos inside.

    Welcome your feedback and suggestions.

Re: Project 1: Back-breaking rescape in mind

Some grass added and spiky moss being cultivated there.
temperature now set at 25, 25-26
    dernele root pills added

Finally got my hands on seachem nitrogen. Been lacking that for the past 2 months. Lucky plants were not too affected, despite the strong MH lights.

I want to add angel fish to that. when big, they will eat oto and cardinal right? that is what is preventing me from adding them.

    Cheers, Christophe

Adult angles do attack and eat smaller fishes.
Otos are particularly bad for the health of your angels, their spiny fins tends to choke whoever trying to eat them.

Angel Fish...you are lucky to be close by Vista point. ^_^ 1 pair recommended. Don't mix up with community. But getting that pair would take you a lot of eye power to identify which are male and female which paired up. Catching them is another thing. And yes, they practically tekan any other community fish in the tank.

Once I owned a pair. When the male angel mati, the female one commit sucide by banging the glass. We could only stand and watch...can't do anything.

Angelfishes have an extendable mouth which is big enough to swallow a small cardinal or Otocinclus if they wanted to. You should see them during feeding time and you will see their mouth extending outwards to snap at food.

Re: Project 1: Back-breaking rescape in mind

    Added the following crypts today..
    1) C. undulata 'Red' (2 stalks)
    2) C. pontederiifolia (2 stalks)
    3) C. petchii (5 stalks)
    4) C. lutea (8 stalks)
    5) C. lucens (5 stalks)
    6) C. griffithii (4 stalks)
    7) C. cordata var. siamensis (3 stalks)
    8 ) C. cordata var. blassii (1 stalk)
    9) C. ciliata (3 stalks)
    10) C. albida (3 stalks)
    11) C. wendtii 'Tropica'(2 stalks)

Once they establish, I will be transferring the excess to my other tank (forest of joy), or put for sale.

Added fertilizers, dennele root pills, wonder gro roots tabs.

Re: Project 1: Back-breaking rescape in mind

Consider one more light behind the tank at the bottom just behind the sand bed. Connect it same circuit with your MH lights. Should be fun and create some nice light gradient. You can visit Sim Lim Tower, left side, side door after bank, 1st shop there. They sell LED Lights. You can ask the auntie there (only one...the other is a young girl). What you need is a connector and a AC 9V adaptor. Connect up the circuit via connectors. The auntie can advise you what to get. Cost should be plus minus $30-40. Won't have heat from my current setup...kee kee.

Blue whale, I am not following you?? How to create the gradient? Won't the MH light 'kill' off any LED light.

I am in the process of searching my store for the black background.

And the picture is taken I think with EV-2

Re: Project 1: Back-breaking rescape in mind

Hmm...you are not getting, I need to ring your memory back. Taiwan Seductive Picture. Go back and see it. Watch the back of the tank. It looks totally different. If that also fails for you to remember look here:

Maybe a bit on ranma's tank.

    Watch the background.

Hmm..windows = reflection. Even if you have a black background, it doesn't kill that reflection tried it. I need to use hugggggge blanket to cover the windows reflection before taking that daylight photo. Still...from the side to avoid myself being in the glass. Tried that! =) Okay, you can visit the bookshop to get that black background.
