Yes, Kel is right - Pacific Marine is selling the yellow tangs between $20.00 to $40.00 depending on their shipment.
    Check for their new arrivals.

And New Trio Fisheries at LCK 110 Neo Tiew Crescent is selling the Hawaii yellow tangs between $20.00 to $26.00 (S & M sizes) and normal yellow tangs between $8.00 to $12.00. Blue tangs between $12.00 to $16.00 and I had forgotten the prices for their Purple tangs. Last Sunday (08/12/02) I had just visited their place and still saw quite a number of the various tangs available, maybe you can call them to check on their stocks & prices and their contact nos. are 90097781 for Bac & 98178144 for Steven.

    are they the same thing?

looking for 2 juvenile to join my purple and ble tang
i dun recommend that.. purple and blue are fine.. but the purple tang and yellow tang is gonna turn on each other. this is because tangs are territorial and u should not or try not to mix them together especially of the same shape or unless your tank is really big to house them. alternatively, u can try raising them from young and putting them into the tank at the same time... it might help but then, no promises though.. it really depends on the individuals

Hawiian Yellow tang has a brighter yellow and less disease prone. Normal tang is more sustiple to ick and the yellow colour faded as time goes by. I'm able to compare because I got 2 of them at my tank now but it may be just coincidence that the normal yellow tang appear to be this way.

hmmm.. other than the color difference, which i think most of us might not be able to tell the difference unless they are placed side by side... what other significant difference are there?

Juz like to check with you guys :

tangs are territorial .... but its ok to have blue and purple tang and not purple and yellow tang ??

or it really depends on them ??

they might squabble about it .... or they might live in peace until someone get on someone else nerve [] []

    tangs are territorial ....
    yes, u are right
but its ok to have blue and purple tang and not purple and yellow tang ??
this is because, PT and YT are similar in shapes thus the squabbles.. similarly, u do not keep BT with clown tang or a powder blue with powder brown or black tang together
or it really depends on them ??
that is also true. really depends on your luck. but i managed to keep a PT with YT in my old tank. just have to make sure that the one to be introduced, have to be slightly bigger to be on the safe side. i known of ppl who managed to keep 3 PTs and 1 YT together without much squabbles.. so, it all depends on individuals.. anyway, the best is to introduce them all at the same time, if possible..

    Hi Green Horn,

    - Recently have been to New Trio Fisheries at 261, Neo Tiew Cresent (LCK 110) Singapore 718900. They are selling juvenile Yellow Tang at $22 each and they claimed that they are from Hawaill I think.

    Cheers

    Hi, mvi3,

How to tell between Hawaiian & Normal Yellow Tangs ?

Hawaiian Yellow Tangs ---- Colour is more solid & brighter. Sharper nose and has a white stripe at the body near to the tail.

Normal/Indonesia Yellow Tangs ---- Colour seems to have some mixture of black thus the yellow is not bright enough compare to the Hawaiian tangs. Their nose is more round & has no white stripe.
