Actually I posted in another forum, I am giving away the container for free, if you don't mind coming to collect it:

    1) Tg Rhu Road in the evenings
    2) Suntec/Tampines Interchange area during the day.

You will need to get the "ingredients" yourself, and the pipings and co2 reactor.

Frankly, you will be better off buying a cheap C02 tank-set from NA. I went from a DIY setup->manual regulator tank->solenoid. I regretted it.. should have just gone straight to solenoid+tank.

Thank you, lee1224 and heeroyu16 for the information. I will check it out.

    helicraz,

I am thinking of getting it for my current 1ft experiment tank. In your opinion, do you think it is still better to go for pressurized CO2 even for nano setups? btw, thanks for the offer, will probably get it new as i work in the north area.

Some of the problems I have with the DIY solution is the irregular CO2...
    I cannot control it.

The other problem I have is, occasionally I will get the solution overflowing into the tank, or the tank water being suck into the container.

One more.. I couldn't get a mixture that can be sustain for more than 1 week.
So every week, I have to mix a new batch of solution, and struggle with back flow or overflow...

i change the mixture every 10-14 days

    day 1 and day 10-12 - 1 bubble every 5 secs
    day 13 - 16, 1 bubble every 8 secs
    day 2 - 9, 1 bubble every 3 secs

seems ok for me, furthermore the startup cost is much much cheaper

by the way you might want to install a bubble counter to prevent slimy stuff flowing into the diffuser

to be honest, if you are serious on co2 for a nano setup, its better to bite the bullet and get a pressurised system + solenoid
gives alot more flexibility and control

although personally, i find that co2 for nano setups a little excessive
excel or even non-co2 setups work just as well

ya, i was advise by alot of people that nano setups having pressurised is indeed overkill, but i wanted something more stable to diy co2. Having a PH of 5 at the end of the week with an inability to keep snails/shrimps/fishes really changed my mind.

The plus point for diy is of course the initial cost involved and if you have only a planted tank, having 1 stand by bottle will be sufficient enough. Dont wait for the yeast to die off and decrease its bubble count, change it immediately.

I have my japanese HG growing better in diy co2 than now using pressurised.

i guess mileage and results really vary for everyone. its down to preference as well
i wanted convenience and control and thats what i got with a pressurised system

i started with diy before i went into pressurised and had alot of problems due to the fluctuating co2 levels
i know. probably a bug part of the algae issues was due to my own ineptitude with diy co2
