10mm for a 1ft cube is insanely thick. i just placed an order for a 5mm 1ft cube from a reputable tank maker at about the same price as you were quoted, very slightly more expensive. NA, i believe, sells ready made 1ft cubes cheaper
hi guys, i'm searching for a cube tank for a new tank project... is custom the only way to go? been quoted $18 for a 1ft cube tank with 10mm thick glass..
however i don't mind getting acrylic or plastic if its cheaper and lighter... any idea where i can get it and how much would it cost?

10mm?? yeah that is in-sanely thick![]()
Or you may look out for some good deals (2nd-hand or new but unused/ no use) in the Market Place Thread... If you don't mind that the tanks are not 1st-hand ones...
10mm cannot be, the recommended customed made braceless tank similar to that of ada is about 6mm. ada cubes however are 4mm with special silicone.
Maybe you can check with C328 - Clementi florist and Aquarium, 67778468.

Hi All Bros,
The 1ft cube tank i have is already taken tonigth by one Aq bro, tank already sold. I guess bro antitrust have to look for other bros for his tank.
So sorry bro antitrust.

I have been to various LFS recently over the last couple of months, but most of them are now curved at the front. I went to weeyang to get my done for $18, clear, minimum silicone and good service. Cant beat that.
go for david's "ADA style" cube tank. I've got 3 tanks done up "ADA style", 2 by weeyang and 1 by david and i must say that david's silicone work is better. i literally cannot see the silicone whereas with weeyang's, the silicone is minimally applied butt can still be seen when you're looking up close (and with cube nanos, you're mostly looking up close!). of course, weeyang does make up for this in other ways, but for workmanship i'd say go with david.
Anyone know if there is a cube tank with external overflow? Or is there anywhere that custom makes them?
Was thinking of getting one...
