Must have been your tank water then!

i have a bunch of weeping moss. i tied some of them and put it inside my non CO2 tank. the result was yellow dead weeping moss in 2 days.
i thought it was the non CO2 issue. so i tied some of them and put it inside one of my CO2 enriched tank. the result was another yellow dead weeping moss in 2 days.
i put the rest of them inside a 1 lbs ice cream container with some water. i changed the water every 2 days or so whenever i remember. to my surprise it's been about a month i'm doing this and the weeping moss is still alive and did pretty well.
i suspect it was the high nitrate that killed the moss almost instantly... because all of my tanks got about 20 ppm of nitrate. temperature is pretty decent at 27-28°C.
anyone have second thought?
