Ok, planted all the plants in already.. water still not cleared yet as I messed around with the gravel too much.

    Tank size: 30x30x30
    Co2: 1BP 3secs
    Lights: 2x 9W PL
    Filter: Eheim Ecco 2232

Anybody with advise on how to improve on my tank?

What plant is that in the back left corner?

Simple, yet effective. I like it. Maybe get some Anubias, nana petite and place inbetween the cracks in the rocks. This'll soften the transition from HG to rock to backing plants.

Is the 2232 too powerful for a 1ft cube? I'm using 2211 and it seems my tank is having a typhoon in it

I see you have a good 9w 2x spread as lights. Good start. However, while setting up and deciding on a suitable canister filter for a 1FT posed some problems for me as well. Experimenting with a resun cy200 and later deciding on perhaps eden, ive concluded to use back my old 250L/330L gex OHF.

Hi Torque, nope the tank cleared up but the lights are off so i cant take a picture don't want to disturb the plants too much during their "rest" time... hopefully they grow well with those lights.. was still tinking of getting the 24W light from mizuworld. Do you think my lights are enough ?

Jervis, the uncle told me in chinese.. some plant from japan or something.. bought it from colourful. any advice to give on the scapping itself? your tanks are beautiful.. appreciate if you can give me some tips here

What kind of aquascape do you have in mind?

Personally, I will add a lot more plants to prevent the usual start up problem with algae. Your current hairgrass seems to be planted too close together. Perhaps you can get more to carpet the foreground or spread out those you have.

By the way, when your hairgrass grows, your downoi may be partially covered. You might want to take note of that.

    Cheers,

Usually Hairgrass do not show much bubbling... they only form large bubbles that will escape from underneath its roots (that will quickly escape vertically to the water surface). Your Blyxa japonica should bubble with tiny bubbles forming trails upwards.
