Bro, i suggest you treat the sunken belly now. Dont let it drag on...if not you may loose your fish.

But I thought usually if it's internal parasite or sunken belly, the fish would be rejecting all food? They would be losing appetite?

If he's still eating, then probably he's just under nourished. Probably the lfs owner did not feed regularly under their care. Skinny fish will also have sunken belly but doesn't necessary means internal parasite. So maybe good and regular food should be the treatment.

White poo is the sign to look out for internal parasites. Usually, at the early stages, the will still eat as per normal. Sometimes, pumping them with live food together with treatment may help improve their condition.

When not treated, the start to lose appetite till finally the reject food totally. Death is usually imminent at this stage.

darkness not an indication of male/female...it's an indication of stress. I've had dark males and pale females too. In this case, it may also be photography as I note the colour base of the body is still creamy. Colours wise...when an apisto turns dark, there's less contrast and the colours don't show so well. It could also be that this particular fish is just not brightly coloured, or it could be photography as well.

Judging from the dorsal and ventral fins, i'd say definitely a male.

A juvenile male because of the extended dorsal rays. The ventral fins are also indications of it being a male.
