I need quite a big piece to grow moss... Probably at the back of a 3ft tank as a backdrop...
Please give me some info regarding where can I get the mesh cheaply?

Hmmm... alot of ppl buy wire mesh from hardware shop, most will have it, bwt i came across nice stainless wire mesh from art shop where ppl use it to do art projects, u can try ARTFRIEND at bras Basa, tink 2nd story. They have nice wire mesh, of various size.
you can check out hardware shop at sungai road. there are lots of hardware shops there. I think it is cheapest there.

Anyway, for backdrop, use the plastic mesh. I've seen the black one at PetMart and Far East plant nursery along Thomson rd. Home-Fix DIY has it too. I think most nurseries and DIY shops will have it.

ah tan, bioplast sells stainless steel mesh and in big pieces as well as those plastic ones. if you have time you should go to where vinz and sherwin has pointed out. the other person would be teo and you can ask him to stuff the moss for you and collect it on other occasion once the moss has started to grow....

I prefer steel mesh as I think it would make the moss grow better since some light is reflected...
Currently using a plastic mesh for my X-mas moss, but it appears that the moss grows quite slowly.
i would much rather buy directly from hardware stores than *cough* get it from aquarium retailers

I went to 30 Kelantan today.
Got a sheet about 4 ft by 1 ft of 6mm mesh for $9... there are a lot of types of mesh in that shop![:0] [:0] [:0]
Saw a nice hanging lamp at a lighting shop by the name 3T something... I think should be MH, but never ask the price...
