I couldn't believe it few days ago when my black paradise fish (Macropodus hongkongensis) spawned in my community tank. This paradise fish is named after Hong Kong.

Few months ago, I brought back a pair of black paradise fish during my fishing trip in southern China. I'm a lazy fish keeper, so I don't breed the fish. However, they managed to breed in a community tank, last week. Just like Betta, the male made the bubble nest for the eggs & when it hatched, the fries swim around in the surface area & the male will protect the fry. The female doesn't take care of their fries.

There are a lot of black hairy algae in my tank, so the juvenile managed to find food or hide in the algae inside my community tank.
