Let's look at some GREEN shall we?

This is the corner in my 2ft tank where I first planted the 1/2 pot M. hirsuta acquired from Far East. It's now a cocktail of 4 different foreground plants

In order to NOT 'crash' my 2ft tank... I practiced great caution when pulling out the plants. I have a tube with running water to siphon the cloudy water while pulling out the plants slowly. This method works for me even in very small tanks

Je®vis' very own WABIKUSA わびくさ (the original)

With the help of my trusted ADA tools... I spent about an hour separating the M. hirsuta from the HC, Glossostigma and HG

A good table lamp is a must!

I have never spent so much time on plants...

This is a cleaned M. hirsuta plant in typical form.

Planting long runners like this into a thin layer of gravel will be a real challenge. The last thing I want is to mess up the Duponit-Mix. So I have to patiently cut the runners into individual plant. I shorten some roots too to facilitate planting.

Time spent: 2 1/2 hours in total.

Haha I half expected that crazy robot dog to jump out from behind the driftwood.

The 4 plant cocktail looks great though.

My back aches just thinking how much time you spent bent over your tank doing all that "weeding"

    Can't wait for next installment.

Actually it's not that bad... the tank is short and it's on my work desk Now scaping my upcoming 4x2x2' is going to be a backbreaking experience

For filtration... I transfered a Eheim Ecco canister over from my 2ft tank. So this tank will get a head start with a colonized canister

Will clean up the lily pipes next week

Tank looks great. The driftwood placement is excellent.

But not sure if hairgrass suits the look. I would probably go for E.Tennellus.

    I might be wrong though.

Actually I did consider E. tenellus... I settled for common hairgrass in the end as it can create a softer look for that area. And the darker leaves will balance my brighter M. hirsuta

Actually they are to be contained within their own territory both physically and visually. But of course some human intervention will be needed at a later stage. This tank is quite easy to work with

I actually hate you - in a good way

Your tank design and set-up is always visually pleasing. You make it seem effortless and so easy to do. I've been trying now for 2 years to get one tank looking half respectable, and yet i'm still unable to get a tank with good plant growth to look as if its in complete harmony.

Two thumbs up from me mate, i envy you so! haha
