Jervis, got 2 question which I hope you can help.
    1. Which model of light are you using?
    2. Do you think it's bright enough? Cause I have a similar tank that has yet to be set up, any recommendations?

    "Lighting: 2 x 24W T5 Osram 6500K"
I extracted the above from previous reply.

Here's the long awaited update... I made a major mistake by transferring the CO2 to another tank 2 weeks ago... the result is quite discouraging

Hair algae growing on the gravel... a first time for me

Introduced SAE a week ago to hopefully fix the symptom... will have to get a CO2 running next week

On a positive note... all my Galaxy are doing very well

Although some M. hirsuta leaves are covered with algae... they are growing nicely with healthy looking root system... introduced 2 Oto today to tackle the problem.

Is that a pufferfish I see? Doesn't it bother the other fish???

Nope... they have been behaving very well in this tank and previous 2ft tank... probably because they are the Dwarf Puffer (not the usual Puffer). Tested them with Rasbora espei and Galaxy

The Galaxies enjoy hiding among the Ferns... to allow them more room to hide... I moved the top branch 2 inches to the right. Luckily I didn't tie all the branches together.

Can see the gap created by moving the top 2 branches.

Transfered some Nana petite (tied to small lava rock) to fill up the gap.

    What do you guys think?

It does give the left side of the tank more volume and strength

Never underestimate the aggression of a dwarf puffer. Mileage may vary.

Just to add, indeed still an art. More so now than at first. Well done. I am very jelous.

You mentioned this is a 2ft tank, that holds approx 24 litres? Seeing this scale work so well i am wondering whether to re-do my 2 footer and have a go at something similar with equal beauty.

    Hi Jervis,

    Again, a really nice tank...
By the way, do you got a pic of your dwarf puffer?

Jervis, awaiting for new updates of the tank.. By the way.. Dwarf puffers are cute little fishes but I do encountered them attacking other fishes, that includes my apisto where his fins was badly nipped off the other time.. especially the female ones.. I have no choice but to catch them out and give to someone else.. That is one of the reason why I never consider introducing them into my tanks anymore especially when I have lots of endlers fries in the tank.. Sure "makan" my fries.. Haha..

And alternatively choice is the Chainsaw Loach which remain small but rather effective in removing snails in the tank as well..

Very nice tank jervis, that hiding place you created should be used by a pair of apisto instead

my dwarf puffer leaves my crystal red tetras alone, but it disturbs my plecos instead. but of course my plecos are more than happy to have a little 'servant' scratching their backs for free
