I used to face problem while WC. The inrush water tended to spoiled the delicate plants or stirred up the dirt. So have to pour in very carefully.

I make use of the cellufoam box of the blood worms & a pc of suction cup w "C" clip on it. The box comes in 2 halves. Just use 1 of them. Make a hole on one side of the box, just big enough for the "C" clip to insert & pull out.

Stick the box together w the suction cup inside the tank, on top of the water. Pour water directly onto it. The water will flow out uniformly & it reduces the inrush as well. After WC, remove the box first then the suction cap. Easy, safe & fast.

Now with this DIY device, no problem anymore.

Hope my 5 cents experience solve your problem also.

I just put the cover of a "tau huey"(beancurb) tub/tupperware, and pour water directly onto the cover, with it floating on the water surface.

    Works perfectly fine too.

Alamak~! Just place it at any corner, and pour the water in the way that the "cover" will move towards that corner and it won't move around much at all.

Mine is a 4ft tank. Need to change several pails of water and only accessible from front.

Tried your method before but need more patient and skills. Still find it easier, faster and convenient with suction cap. Solely my experience and preference.
