i introduced myself a while back and people responded asking to
see the fishroom that i started in November 2006.

Wackytpt suggested a start a new thread in 'aquascaping'.

i don't think i'd call my tanks aquascaped, especially checking out
what some of you have done to make your tanks look like gardens.

but, here are some pics anyway

I guess if you meant to aquascape the tank, then it will be called aquascaping no matter what the result is, however if it isn't, then i guess it is not called an aquascape..

    cheers,

Btw, Impressive load of tanks you have! Will build myself one in the near future! hehe..

    Wowzers!!

We can tell you pretty hardcore from the numbers of tanks mentioned in your introduction thread but the microscope seals the deal!
What's housed in the plastics "condominium" in the centre o the first picture?

Most importantly, for me at least, what's your water change regime?!?
Must be quite back-breaking with the number of tanks...

Oh, and how about the sponges?
How often do you clean them, if ever?

    And feeding too!

Man, I have so many questions for you...

thanks for the support! i thought i might get laughed off the forum
    with my bare tanks!

i did go a bit overboard with the microscope, but you can't
beat it for checking paramecium cultures or checking for
    killie eggs in peat moss.

the plastic condo is a plastic nut and bolt holder that i got at the
hardware store, i used hot glue to seal the little drain holes in
each drawer so i could hatch out killies in them. works good,
i have the little cork board next to it so i can keep track of
what i have in each drawer!

in the last pic you can get clear view of the plastic 55 gallon
drum i use to age water. i have to fill it twice a week and
only change 1/3 -1/2 of each tank depending on the fish
load and how 'messy' it looks. i have a hose run from the
utility tub in the laundry room to refill it and there is a pump
attached to the white hose that is used to fill the tanks up.
i still have to siphon water into a bucket and carry it out
to get rid of it. the water here is about neutral and about
140ms TDS, i think that makes it 5-6 dH. except for one
or two special cases, i don't condition the water except
to add 1 teaspoon of salt per gallon.

i let the sponges go a while before squeezing them out
in the drained off tank water. i have a pretty light fish
    load in most of them.

i feed almost exclusively live food. grindal worms and bbs
mostly but black worms for the big guys, micro worms, vinegar
eels, paramecium for the little guys. i have a few fruitfly cultures
too but most of the fish don't seem to notice them, not to
mention they are a pain to feed. i still keep them around though.
other than live they get frozen bloodworms now and again.
it seems that i spend more time with the livefood than i do
    with the fish some days!

Wow, how do you keep the termites at bay? j/k.

I think it's rather nice and cosy and I immediately guessed killies! LOL.
Would love to see the many species you keep.

Nice set of racks you got! (pardon the pun)

Constructed the racks yourself from pre-fabricated wooden panels?

Looks like a mini-laboratory in there. Other killies, what fishes do you keep?
    Yours Truly, Avan

I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life... to put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
