Awesome aquascape, and very natural. Some nice small rasboras would look great. Maybe boraras brigittae? I keep blue axelrodi's and just love them.

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the interest.
I removed the cyperus and added some blyxa recently. Also added some dwarf puffers to control the snails.

I have the use of a decent SLR and a tripod at the weekend so I hope to get some good shots of the tank.

    Will post pics soon as.

More likely Hemianthus Micranthemoides yes. We all know only to well the typical growth of HC. The bigger leaf shape and trailing growth clearly show this is HM.

both HC and HM in this scape! HM at the very back,HC foreground and up into the rocks.

This is easy to achieve, simply use the rocks to hold the substrate piled up high into the corner.

Im pleased with how the tank has turned out and intend to enter it into the AGA.

I have taken final shots and have to come to terms with stripping down soon to make way for a new project.

This is something I have yet to try... cascading soil

Any information on how to join the AGA competition? When is the closing date?

    ukplanter,
I am intending to keep HM in my next setup as well, was wondering for a 1FT cube, is an 18w/24w sufficient to keep it tall with constant trimming. I am aiming to keep them as midground plants.

Same scape water level a little higher in this pic covering the previously exposed rock.... obviously this pic is just one end of the scape.

    Thanks for the comment

HM always grows tall in my expeirience .... I would imagine 18watt plenty of light in 1ft cube. I find Hm always a slow starter but once established generaly does well.

UKplanter, how do you accomplish the tiered soil? I just recently got some coral red pencilfish, as in your avatar. Love them.

The rocks simply hold the soil in place! pour your substrate in to the back corner of your tank and watch it pile up and up and up creating a nice slope effect as it goes, Then push the rocks into the mound to stop any land slide on filling.

Ahhhh loving the red coral pencils (n. mortenthaleri) beautiful fish.... enjoy.
