    translucent stuff growing on my new Bog Wood. Tanks only a few days old - dont know if its good or bad??

    Mine also had. some form of algae i think. you have live stocks inside? maybe because filter can't handle the bioload yet.

    no need for alarm. they are harmless. They appear because the wood is not soaked enough. They will go away after a few weeks. Unslightly though.

    Yup. Some of the 'new' wood I bought also had that. Its kindda of slime... mysteriously appear, mysteriously disappear.

    Used to have them, but with time they will go away. some fish will eat it, like my tetras, or you can take them out and scrub them off. However, if you have already attached mosses to the bog wood, from my experience these slime will kill the mosses in contact it.

    I usually soak my driftwood for about 8 weeks before use, initially in the first week, the transparent goo was quite rampant, it disappear after the 6 week, so did the tint.
