    Hi all,

    Can I check if I can leave the Peats (Sera Super Peat) in the tank without removing it?? Any side effects?? Understand the once Peat is introduce to filther, it should be changed every 4 months or so.

    Hope to get some advice.

    There shouldn't be any side effect except your ph being increase to what its meant to be. How much would depend on what else is there in your tank, e.g. coral chips, woods, etc.

    I thought peat will decrease the pH?

    The German peat makes an excellent bio-filtration substrate. There is not much pH action from peat, unless you have not much buffering in the water.
    You may want fresh peat for it's beneficial effects , but old peat is good as a substrate, no problem.
