    Sadie,
You weren't kidding when you say your tank when you said it's juz tenellus and lotus only......

Very diciplined aquascaping...... to maintain only 2 spieces of plants.
    Cheers!!

    hi sherchoo,
those tenellus do grow like mad,I've not seriously trim them yet.
Its true its easy to look after. cut down lots of effort but increase in viewing pleasure.

imo, too monotone... too much empty space, add some driftwood or mangrove root

Wow, very simple and definitely easy maintainance... It's nice, I like it. Though additional character can be added with some nice wood or rocks. Just my 2 cents... but overall, I still like it. It just visualised for me a scaping idea of mine but with very different plants.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

sadie, it is strange your lotus is so big and bushy and yet it is not sending out floating leaves, or did you trim them off? they don't flower until they get floating leaves.

I got the same from hoppinghippo, and within days after planting it threw up lots of floating leaves and also a plantlet. But not yet flowering

    hi learner,
its some kind of rain gutters that has shaped to hold the PL.
I dont have the actual cost of these cause I got them as second hand products when
I purchased the bulk (tank, light system etc) together.

    hi hwchoy,
the lotus leaves will be trimed as soon as they have the potential becoming floating leaves. so i guess i will never have flowers from them.

I had a red tiger lotus (the thin leaf kind) flowering once I let the leaves float. Very nice dark pink flower with a yellow centre, about 4-5in across. Think you might try letting it float.

Interesting layout. Nice growth of plants!
Did the lotus grew from one single rhizome? Looks so leafy. Will you be propagating its plantlets round the tank?

    hi juggler,
    thanks,
the primary lotus doesn't grow from rhizome.
initially it survives from standalone plantlet, now it has quite a few plantlets
around it. i would be propagating cause they are getting rather huge.
