We are proud to announce that the 2008 AGA Aquatic Gardeners Convention will be held the weekend of November 14-16th 2008, at the Atlanta Sheraton, within walking distance of the Atlanta Aquarium.

Takashi Amano is making his third appearance at an AGA convention, including both a lecture and aquascaping demo. Professor Benito Tan will be speaking on aquatic mosses. Professor Michael Kane will be discussing Tissue Culture for the aquarist. Jeff Senske will speak on space/design and the aquarium, which will interest even the non-aquarist. Greg Morin, president of Seachem, returns for the first time since 2001. Finally, Karen Randall will have a banquet presentation on her recent collecting trip to Thailand. I have already registered to attend. I look forward to a chance to meet Prof. Tan.

These conventions are a lot of fun, with a chance to meet and converse with a LOT of avid aquatic gardeners.

    I'm envious.

However, even though I won't be going to the convention, I'll like to do my bit for the AGA. When the time is near, I'll send you some mosses for the auction. I'm sure you wouldn't want to keep the money, Wright so let's just give the proceeds to the AGA.

You are correct KL, I wouldn't want to keep the money.

On the other hand, I have let my mosses get hopelessly mixed up, so it will be terribly tempting to sneak out a small sample of those I no longer have or can identify for sure.

Actually, my mosses are not doing all that well in most of my tanks. I suspect my water is a bit too soft for some of them. When I had hard water in Fremont and Santa Clara, what I then called Java Moss thrived and even did OK in brackish tanks.

On thinking about it, pack them for sale, sealed well. If I want them that much I should be willing to bid on them at the convention. No?
