as in leaving it running 2hrs before lights on and 30mins after lights off.

have another question, how do i trim the back plants? now i just cut off the leaf halfway, is that fine ?
So that before the lights is on, CO2 already distribute to the whole tank and CO2 takes a while to build up, once the light is on, the plant is ready to take in the CO2. 30mins before light off is because the whole tank already have enough CO2 for the rest of 30mins, saves your CO2 and also to prevent fauna get CO2 poison which is quite rare.

Need a close up of the plant!

Actually, no need to worry too much about bubbling, just observe your plants and note their growth progress.

Slowly... you have just increased CO2 to an acceptable range yesterday... your previous 1 bp3s is a little too insignificant to promote much growth... give your Blyxa a week or so

Hi bro Route, can i ask a couple of questions? How long have you had this set-up? Looks pretty new to me.. most likely a month? Also, when you planted the floras, did you forcefully shafted it down? Cos you may have hurt the roots or stem in the process. Also, any possibility that you're overdosing? Btw, your substrate looks like the one that has CO2 infused in it. Can't remember the brand already... Am i right? so did you add any base fert?
Next project: Converting my 3ft freshwater fish planted tank into a shrimp tank.

Hi Reginald, this setup is pretty new, less than a month old
did not forcefully shaft it down i think... had difficulties planting it due to the substrate that i'm using. Substrate is ADA Amazonia II. No base fert added, dosing with seachem ferts mention in previous post.

Hopefully I did not damage the roots or stem.

This is actually my first try at a planted tank, used to keep cichlids.

Any advises will be greatly appreciated.

Don't think you damaged the root of your plants as your Blyxa is looking rather healthy to me. They would've turned yellow and shed many of their leaves if they are in a bad shape.

Don't worry so much... take it easy and enjoy. We are not growing anything uncommon here... they are just grass

    Glad to hear that
Just another question, is there a reason for my plants to only bubble after a water change...?

starting to have algae problems... guess i'm dosing too much liquid fert. stopped all dosings and increase the circulation. Jap hairgrass seems to be growing well... only the plants at the back seems to have stunted growth..

added in normal hairgrass and also gu jing cao.. really like the gu jing..
