By the way can both be place within the same tank?
By the way can both be place within the same tank?
Im not really sure. Maybe the first one is a crowntail. No wait, it cant be. I dont know. Sorry.
If bettas male and male then cannot. They will fight each other.
How to tell their sex?
Are you asking about their species name, or are you trying to find out what variants/strains are they?
err...probably the name will do...and how to tell if they are male or female?
So sorry, i am so new to this!
They are all Betta splendens, don't know what variant though, crowntail, half moon, double tail etc.
if im correct top is male bottom is female look like but i might be wrong. For the variant take a pciture of them when you put a mirror in front of them they should flare because this view is a little hard to see.
2nd picture should be a female halfmoon plakat.
1st pic is a male, but won't know the strain unless it flares.
females tend to have shorter fins in general.
Females tend to have an egg sag.
Thanks!!
So I can add the male and female together??
they will fight. maybe result in death? or if you are very lucky they may spawn for you. after which you have to remove the female.
Wah...have to remove the female then no more place to put it liao!! sad! Can the female betta live with lobsters?
you want to cull the female betta is it?
LOL....no no...
get a small tank, maybe around 2Litres?
then seperate out one of them ^^
another way is to buy a divider or smth and split your tank in half.
i did that once for my juvenile bettas, now i've gotten a tank for each.
oh erm the red one is female, and its well. just a normal red betta i guess?
the top one is likely a male, butterfly maybe? i'm not so sure.
and yes, lobsters are a bad bad idea. one of my friends didnt know that and what was left of his fighter the next day were the fish's scales....
I had placed them in the same tank for now...fully forested planted tank hehe...they have time to do the Indian dance inside the tank haha...
they seems happy now with no fatality after 4 days..hehe
haha thats good/
the plants sorta help in concealing the fishes from eachother. anyway, if you ever want to make a community betta splendens (fighting fish) tank, the best way is to put a lot of plants and driftwood, and ketapang leaves =) then have many many places to hide from angry neighbours..
