I think they should be able to do that as long as their gills wet but wont be for long.
even if they are wet, they will be very stressed up out of water.. and so might just died like that.
shrimps are very fragile live stocks..![]()
they don't breathe air (no lungs) but will absorb dissolved oxygen in the water with their gills. so if there are no water for their gills, they will sufficate.... like what will happen to us in water!
Have you ever watched Spongebob Squarepants? Whenever the residents of Bikini Bottom need to go up onto land, they hold their breaths. Yeah, it works like that too!
Once in my tank, when i was doing water change, my shrimps will hang on to the glass, or the glass, and did not want to let go, even if I'm draining the water.
