Dr,have u got any other place in mind to do the charity?I can only hold till sunday, then i think will have to sell it away.any suggest?
Hey Delwin and everyone, sorry for the late reply. Was quite busy this weekend with some personal stuff. Sorry Goodfish, i think for the time being will have to let go the tank because usually the Homes won't take so soon to confirm. The same goes to the rest who hold back your selling, if you urgently need to sell due to space constraint or some urgent matter then i'll advice you all to sell.

Thanks for all the valuable support toward this project. Whatever the reason for the rejection of this project, we can only hope that it was the best decision made.

As for now i'll continue to look around for Homes who are interested. If you know of a CHildren Home near your place (or personally you know them) then do pm or post it here so that i can contact them asap.

I'll never give up! Thanks guys for the support! Will definitely bring all a good news again!

    4ft cabinet tank

    hi Dr,halu & all,

First thanks for halu's kind gesture.Currently might not have excess floor for 3ft tankthink probably 3tier 2ft would be the best,

Dr,how about old folks opp clementi cc(Orange Valley)?

Anybody here have temp storage place for de 4ft cabinet tank, really hope this set can bring some joy & happiness to the less fortunate.

i solely believe that 4ft cabinet tank is hard to come by & i had spend quite some efforts to secure this set.hope can have this for Dr's future project.

    DxLin,

In future, please firm up your plans before making for donation calls here. Whilst we appreciate your humanitarian efforts, the lack of organisation and the result fall out of the plan causes a lot of inconvenience. Do take note.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Smile Give that man a break

i think we shouldn't blame DX for doing something voluntary, as in the real world, projects goes through an iteration process while nothing can be confirmed till the last minute and i think DX had also mentioned others to let go off their items if need be. So chill and strive for a better society to live in.

I believe no one is blaming anyone, but such things need planning for and usually not easy for a single person to handle everything. We have done planted tank for a girl's home before. But to re-emphasis on Benny's view, we should be accountable for donated items incase the projects doesn't fall through, afterall everyone's contribution to a charity project wants it to go smoothly. Look at the likes of the NKF and Ren Ci sage. But that is a different story all together

so, if anyone intend to do a similar project please bear in mind. If you need help for logistic planning and stuff, feel free to ask for help in the forum.

And as a mod, we are not just passing a comment but also a foothold/statement on how such things have to be handled

I understand that Melrose Home is not very big. If you are really keen to set up the tank for the home, better to think about the educational value to the children.

What are the learning points for the children, from the setup to the maintenance of the acquarium? In addition, you probably have to source for some money to help the home maintain the tank, including the utilities for the tank in the next 2 to 3 years.

It might at the end, be better to volunteer at the home on an area that the home feels is most impactful. You can contact the Executive Director there. I think her name is Oliver.

    Cheers.

I did one for a home. My advice is K.I.S.S., else the whole tank is going to collapse in no time.
