I would agree with jervis. Try and remove the staples as soon as possible. You can use the wiring from the meshes and use them accordingly to secure as they are aquarium safe.

You don't let metal rust inside the tank... shrimps are very sensitive to metal substances by the way.

Could you keep us updated on your tank? I'm setting up a low tech tank for crs as well.. but I'm worried about temperature being too high...
mine is averaging around 27. By the way are your CRS C grade? no offense just want to know what the highest grade of shrimp can be keep in a low tech tank

Hi fishpoo. So far my tank is stable. I started with grade C and B CRS (more to test the water condition). Now I have introduced 10 additional Grade SS CRS to the tank. My water temperature is maintaining at around 25-26 with an computer Fan.

My weeping moss is not doing very well and I have removed them as it causes ammonia spike and resulted in a few casualities. However, my US fissiden is doing well. Note that, I seldom do any fertilisation.

I need to top up water every 2 to 3 days. To be save, I will top up water to my 2ft tank (which is already cycled) direct from the tap and then inturns, I will use the water from my 2ft tank to topup my 1ft cube tank.

    My setup is very simple:
    1ft cube tank
    1 x 11w PL light
    1 x hang on filter
    1 x "computer" fan
    ADA soil
    US Fissiden x 3 messes

    hi windcharm,

    any pictures to update us??

Since you already removed the weeping moss, what are you growing on the rock wall now? Did the weeping moss starts to decay due to higher temperature?
