Hi Dickson, thanks for the inputs!
Now i shall watch out for the guppies.![]()
I notice my current batch of malayan shrimps are nocturnal too. Only have 1 mother molly and its babies in the tank. Should not be a threat to them, but they still will come out when the lights are off.
Previously did not experience that, except I always find them more active at night.
Cheers, Christophe
Welcome Salphur.
Since guppies are always hungry, they will try to eat anything. Or almost all fishes has this problem, like the goldfish...
As for only 1 mother molly, do you have enough place for the shrimps to hide or cling on? Once read this shrimps love to cling onto something (eg. moss, plants, sponge) to make them feel more secure. Maybe new to your tank so that is why they tend to hide. Give them time to adjust and they may start wondering around soon.

Hi, I don't think Malayan shrimps are nocturnal as mine come out and stand on top of the mosses and very close to tank light and keep feeding even I have many guppies and tetras. I do have a lot mosses though.![]()
Ivan, your Malayan shrimps are very 'garang'.
My newly bought Malayans are still quite small in size, maybe that's why still hiding.
I hope they will grow to the size of a yamato soon.. hehe. then no fish will dare touch them.
Cheers!
Hi,
Maybe my Malayan shrimps already "make friends" with all those fishes.
The largest I ever seen from my Malayan shrimps is around 2 cm, so i think cannot grow to the size of yamato...![]()
