Amazing my pair of Apisto viejita has breeded. I only found out yesterday when I look at my 1 feet closely.

Now I have problem with feeding them. found out that a bottle of Decap BS cost a whopping $62 dollars wow inflation is it?

I am looking for alternative that is not too time consuming ( I know can decap yourself). Any suggestions.

Either you feed with live bbs or decap bbs. The whole bottle 454 gram can last you centuries, better share with some other.

BTW, biotope got sell smaller quantity, 50 grams, but of course more expensive than the large bottle ( gram by gram).

I will feed the fries with decap bbs at least 1-2 mths after they hatch. For the start I try to get live bbs or freeze them. They are more ready to take the decap when they grow bigger.

Difficult to get live bbs. Most of the BBS i saw at the shops are too big to feed to fries. more likely the other way round.

I find that if you don't mind the trouble, you can buy a hatchery set and a bottle of bbs eggs that's all you need to hatch your own live bbs... Costs less than $50 which you can use for a long time..

Difficult to count but I tried to and end with a number between 15-20 ( I am sure I missed out a few or double counted some).

Woah, that is a good size, your tank parameter must be good and under your tender loving care.

Thanks. But I am starting to wonder if the female will lose its yellowish colour that signifies readiness to breed/brodding. I noticed that since I got this pair and put them in my current tank, the female has been yellowish most of the time. Strange. Wondering if her yellowish colour will fade ( not I that I sihe it to).

Any way I got another contact that sells Decap BBS at 100 gram at $16.00 so I thought that is reasonable.
