What I don't understand is... how can you fit 39W (3ft tube) and 54W (4ft tube) into a 2ft Illumax fixture?
I currently own an Illummax 2ft T5HO light set, it comes with 2x 24W daylight tubes. Am currently thinking of upgrading to either 2x 39W or 54W T5HO tubes.
My question is, do i have to change the internal E-ballast? Will it be possible to change it or is the ballast custom made for only Illummax lighting systems? Anyone tried that before? I really need to know, please help me guys.

Oh shit, means i have to either get a new light set with 3 or 4 tubes....or add another light set beside my current Illummax. Anyway sorry, im not really good at how the wattage for aquarium light tubes goes.

hehehe, i have only downgraded my illunmax, from 24w-> 18w, having the 18w shorter in length. Never higher. But higher requires a change in ballast, that is if you can find a higher wattage tubing with the same length and dimensions as the original 4pins. Illunmax is using the standard 4 pins by the way, i have tried the taiwan/china brands and they dont fit.
