Trigonostigma heteromorpha aka Harlequin Rasbora, native to Singapore. please stock the natural looking ones, rather than those fancy black and blue variants![]()
Hi guys, I know this is quite a common fish for planted aquarium but don't know the exact name of it... appreciate if anyone can help me with it.
I plan to stock my 3ft with it.
Thanks![]()

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Hi Choy, thanks!
Hmm... I didn't know it's actually a native fish, interesting.
I presummed those in the pics are the natural looking ones... right?

How to tell whether is it the blue & black variant?

Men who can both be right & sit tight are uncommon.
anything that does not look like the one in your pix are aquarium hybrids.

Noted with thanks... I had never liked those chemically enhanced or hybrids variants.

this fish is very good for creating a crypt scape. one of its common habitat is shallow forest ponds/streams with piles of C. griffithi
