Consumption of KH

Does KH drop throughout the day? Do we have to dose KH (soda) daily just like in marine tanks?

My gut feel is, no.
It gets diluted though, so just dose accordingly with each water change.

That means the only time you need to dose KH is when you make a water change...

Doesn't explain why my KH drops daily though. I suspect it's gotta do with my pH changes from the CO2.

I think I read somewhere that bacteria need CO3 as food, not 100% as it was long ago.

That's interesting...I still can't seem to maintain my KH.

It can actually drop by 8 in a day...when I dosed too much by mistake one day. Glad nothing died in that day...
