rockscape for apisto

Hi there,

is it advisable to keep apisto in a rock scape planted tank?

currently,there are x6 harlequins , x5 pencil fish and x8 cherry shrimps in my tank.

Not sure about apisto but I keep my otheirafrican cichlids in rock scape and they love it. For apisto, I think better to have some plants e.g. java, nana etc...

Also, may not be good to have cherry shrimps with apisto. Most probably will be food for the apisto.

I have rocks in my apisto tank but most of them are covered with moss. As long as the rocks don't have sharp points (that can injure the fish) and do not have the tendency to topple (some apisto might dig sand under rocks), i think it's fine. As usually adviced, provide them with plenty of hiding places. Caves and driftwoods tied with java ferns, anubias and moss are the recommended hiding places for them. Regards!

Cherry shrimps is no-no, even Yamato which is twice the size of cherry shrimps, attacked until it die .

Have you tried Biotope? They have Wild caught and the farm-bred ones. C328 also have some nice apisto. Good luck in your tank.
