Rockscape is on 'auto pilot' now. Need 1-2 more rounds of pruning before it is presentable

Sourcing inspiration for my 4ft tank as my wife just commented it looks like an 'overgrown jungle', which is not flattering at all Will be focusing on this soon...

Haha. Same here.. Plants are growing out of water due to neglect and the jungle is so thick that the fish has no space to swim

I never see small tank (1ft cube for example) with high ranking at ADA competation. Is that true?

    Many reasons:

    1) No time
    2) Lazy
    3) Lack of ideas

I think I better bring out my 2 pieces of wood from the storeroom and think..

I didnt really track the ADA ranking for cube tanks.

Personally, I find 1 feet cube or generally cube tanks are not easy to scape. First is the space, Second is the focus because you have to scape near to either the left or right corner else it looks weird.

Maybe someone with cube tanks wants to share their experience?

I think 1ft cube scale limits the available plants you can use to execute an idea, especially for competition where clarity is an important factor. Of course on the other hand if executed brillantly it would demostrate the skill of the designer, plus points

Now that the results are out, congrates to all who submitted

Time to start planning for 2009. Who's planning to start a new scape for competition? I am!

Thanks Jervis. The result was better than expected, though I feel i haven't broken any new grounds - bogwood, ferns, nanas and bolbities which i'm usually more comfortable with. For the upcoming project will make it a point to try other options - hardscapes, plants and equipments. Will look into your arsenal for reference. cheers

There was one ranked 100 in IAPLC Contest 2006 by a Singaporean using a 1ft cube. That was a classic small tank.

Hi zQ, I have replied to your PM regarding my #109.

Vietnamese are big winners this year and I hope you are one of the top winners. If so, I would NOT be asking you to post your entry here. But please PM me your picture and it will still be considered private viewing and no copyright issues involved.

We will be most eager to see your countries' trend in aquascaping and how do we go about it? Must be really amazing! Vietnam has great mountains and sea and you are so close to nature, unlike us !
