We have one advantage over here is that we are close in geographic terms with each other. With some planning-get togethers to discuss the finer points is better than posting. Direct Q & A saves time and some newbie questions would not be so embarrassing.
I've help organised no less than ten small workshops and informal gatherings and I can say that it gets better every time and most of the question are the same and I in the process learn a bit about the difficulties some face that I've not encountered before.
My approach is pretty simple. Plant growing basics are the foundation. For aquascaping, copy when you start, start getting original when you've gotten the confidence. Visualisation and tastes emerge after awhile and you'd have your own style in no time.
Since I have no commercial interest, it's better for the commercial guys to help sponsor these events so that it's a win win situation.
As for the recent ADA party- i've got some pictures posted here- http://www.my-mac.net/forum/viewtopi...p=67761#p67761
I see Vincent, Eugene and Thio was there too.
