    Hi,

I've got an eheim 2028 that has 16/22mm tubing. I've not be able to find a lily pipe style outflow to fit this size tubing. I would guess it would need to be a 17mm outflow fitting.

I'm not after ADA (too expensive for me) and it does not even have to be clear glass/plastic.

Anyone know where to buy a lily pipe style outflow for 16/22mm tubing? Online or LFS?

    thanks
    gbr

    Welcome to AQ GBR!

There is a look alike lily pipe style outflow. But you need to look out for them in the lfs as sometimes the lfs owner might not know what you are looking for. It is made of plastic and is green in colour, nearly similar to the eheim hose colour. I've got mine from K & K Aquarium at Tampines blk 201D.

NA sells a plastic attachment that looks n function like a lily pipe outlet which can be fixed onto the outlet of the original Eheim outlet.

Else, I use another pipe to step up the lily pipe. Let me explain. 2028 uses 16/22 piping. the smaller eheim uses another smaller size which i am not too sure. Get that smaller diameter piping and fix a short amount onto the in point of the lily point. After which, fix the 16/22 onto the piping, it should prove to be a tight fit and should not have any leakage.

doesn't Keong Seong carry 17mm pipes for the P.H. brand of knockoff lily pipes?

Alternatively, I've sourced ebay for merchants in HK that are willing to ship to Singapore. One quote I got was about S$120-$140 for 2 sets of 17mm lily pipes (for my 2x 2028s). I ended up not getting them but getting eheim installation sets instead for the lower cost and better blending into my oyama. after all, green algae encrusted lily pipes stand out as much as green eheim piping

Small thing I would recommend getting this if u wanna keep using ur eheim pipes.
Its not as troublesome as gettin the lily pipes unless u want beauty haha...

its a bit noisy when the water level gets low but not as noisy as the lily pipes IMO. Mayb its because when i use my eheim pipes, i use foam at the inlet which slows the water flow down.

Be prepared for slow water movement in the tank when using this lily pipe.

The water exiting from this attachment is very different than the other attachment that is available eg rainbar, flat nozzle and the plain old straight from the hose. The attachment shape will create a a slight turbulence where the opening is and the water will be spread out. As the water gets farther away from the attachment, it doesn't travel in a straight line and this is where the water flow loses it's strength.

I've used this previously for my 3ft planted tank. The flow from 1 end of my 3ft tank to the other end slowed dramatically with the use of my 2026 at full flow. I do have an external co2 reactor inline but after trying this attachment for a month, there were particle settling on the plants due to dead spot at various part of the tank. If you want a slow water movement in the tank, this attachment will do that.

Thanks all. I got went and got the attachment from NA that patricc mentioned. It works great and costs next to nothing. I just removed the spray bar and put the attachment directly on the eheim hard plastic outflow pipe.

BFG's comments are also accurate. The water movement is much less ... which is a good result for me.

Well if you still want some movement, just aim the outlet from the opposite end to the direction of the inlet. Should have better circulation this way. In fact, using the lily pipes, i had to lower the water flow as it was too fast
