    Hi, need advise from everybody.

I'm currently keep some koi in a 6ft FGT, water change 10 to 20% once a week.

But water is yellowish, how can I remove this yellowish in the water. Did some search in the internet, some people said use a protein skimmer, some said use charcoal.

Anyone has try protein skimmer? Does it works. Is charcoal effective?

Its just a FGT with only koi.

Filter - coral chip, volcanic rock, mat and brush. Added volcanic rock not too long ago. Without it, the water is also yellowish, so it could not be the rock.

The cause could be heavy feeding, which is needed to grow my koi. My 1 year old Ocheeba is about 40cm, and Kohaku is also about 40 cm, and a few others around 30cm.

Just got 25kg bag of charcoal, will try some tonight.
