Hi there, today i got 5 guppies from my local pet store but it appears i was a bit unlucky i was thinking of breeding them when i realised i have 4 males and 1 female . All the male guppies seem to be fully grown and the female is slightly smaller than them so im hoping she will grow pretty quickly. Has anyone got any ideas on how long it takes guppies to grow full size or preferbly old enough to breed?

    Many Thanks Daniel

they can start to breed when they are about 3 months old . First drop may not be alot but they do breed very fast . Every 20 to 25 days they can drop . Soon you will have alot of them !!

any pictures of the guppies ?
guppies arent usually shy. they're probably still stressed out in a new environment.

Once they start breeding it will be almost unstoppable.(until you remove the females)

Hmm... 4 males to 1 female... gonna stress out the female with so many suitors... keep a close look out and rescue her if she can't take it anymore. More covers would be good because they can't differentiate between fry and food.

    Good luck!

Try and pair 1 male with 3 female. I had 4 males and 3 females guppies initially, but all the males somehow died... leaving 1 male with 3, maybe nature will find a way.
