Had a debut macrophotography using a HP R607 Digital Camera 4.1MP only. Though not very good, there were some good ones. It was a fruitful time as the shrimps happened to be active. See for yourselves.

Noticed the "butterfly" motif on the male's back. Is it unique?

Direct image linking to your attachment on another forum does not seem to be allowed, so members are seeing a dead image link. I have taken the liberty to upload the "butterfly" picture to the AQ gallery and fix the link.

If there are any objections or concerns on this, please kindly let me know.

No problem. Thanks for doing that.

I had difficulty putting 6 images. So the 6th one I did a URL link. Couldn't figure out how to:

    a) Add in a 6th one and
    b) do a URL link

    Hi my lady,

Cheers to so many offsprings ...

Are you keeping the shrimps at room temp (ie. non-chiller) ? Coz the whites on the crs are a little pale ?

    Great macro shot there.

The entwined ones are the poorer grade ones, I have better ones which is shown in the above pics. (CRSonleaf.jpg, CRSonjava.jpg). Maybe camera is not doing justice to it. Also had to save as a lower resolution due to file size. Here are 2 pictures of both grades feeding together.

My tank is kept in the office, temp is 24 degrees.

Thanks both of you for your kind encouragement. Me not a photographer. Just happened to have a digital camera that had super macro feature, so snap snap snap. Haha...my friend told me about a photographic competition. So, took my favorite pic and posted an entry. It will be a great laugh if it counts for anything. Imagine a novice shooting with a HP camera vs professionals with Nikon/Canon and special lenses and macro filters, etc. Well, just going for the fun, and who knows...

    Whoopie

After the lovers shot, finally saw the female berried.

I hope she keeps all her eggs. Earlier on, I had one that berried, and she dropped her eggs.

Nice shots of the CRS. Can't wait to see the babies, if you can get a photo of them!

I've been trying to get my wife interested in my tanks. Each time I ask her how it looks after a change in scape, she'd go 'oh, is there any difference..?' Haha.. So thumbs up sister!!

    Father of 3 too.
Next project: Converting my 3ft freshwater fish planted tank into a shrimp tank.

Alas, so many eggs but she dropped all. Can anyone tell me why she couldn't keep them all till full term. I was on vacation for a few days, the last time I fed the 14 shrimps was 3 days ago with about 4 pellets of the crab cuisine. Could it be she didn't get enough food. And another thing is that one of the shrimp also die. Please help.
