always waiting for the right moment to shoot the tank ?

Shot this tank in a super hurry...
The only lens I had is a 50mm f1.8 and no flashes and tripod loaned out and flying off 4 hours after I submitted the picture.
So a lesson is that, never wait till the last minute to shoot the tank!

You should know lar. There is never a right moment to shoot the tank. Somehow, something always seems wrong with the tank.

Ya man, everybody's tank is nice in one way or another. Might score in one area or the other. It's the total score that counts.
In the spur-of-the-moment, I have the thoughts of gathering a group of aquascape enthusiast to start up a aquascaping lfs (business) just for the sake of the hobby, having fun, spreading the interest, gathering all like-minded in a single location. Anyone have anything similar that cross your mind?(maybe this should be in another post...
)
I guess next must take photo at least 1 week before and not 1 day before![]()
We should have a session (demo) how to take pictures. How many flashes to use on a 4 feet tank, etc.
Cheers, Christophe

very beautiful tanks...![]()
This is mine #228
I cannot find the photo I submit. This is another one.
After seeing all the 500+ and 600+ tanks... my scape does belong to the 700+ positionI believe the most important is to keep the spirit high and let's gear up for 2009

Paiseh to post since I'm from over the border-but you guys are right, snap early. more pics to choose from.
You have to in fact snap pics every two weeks for a a month or two especially if you have a stem plant tank you'll know what a pain it is...when one is longer/faster than the other[right Maurice?]
IME, one way of getting in the mood is to start a photojournal so that you can spot mistakes early. Judging from a photo is better than seeing in person because the mind get side tracked by the sparkly/moving things like fishes etc.
Photography is indeed part of the skill I'm afraid because it's presentation-maybe got part time job as photographer during IAPLC fever? [hehe]
Awesome stuff guys-thanks for the preview. Please keep it coming. [are we suppose to hold on to our tank pics before ADA party?-probably safe to show a different pic?]
You can if you dare to fail - Stan Chung
I must disagree with you, Jervis. It's not necessary that your scape 'belong' to or should be #700. Your tank looks great to me with its healthy plants growth and vibrant colour. Layout was also well balanced.
The more I look at the posted pictures with the ranks awarded, the more I am puzzled on what the judges really want![]()

Well, I think it is alright lah. Anyway, I think ADA is worried about the copyright issue only. For us, we have given them the picture so they are free to use it.
From my understanding, once result release, should be ok to post. Anyone else can advise on this?
