Thank you for your kind comment, ongtw.

But your tank is nice. Consider it a 1ft cube (?), there was great depth in it
The japanese hairgrass lawn looks cozy to me.

Try using your toe to press the remote shutter on the floor and one hand to scare the fish and the other to hold the hair dryer. Safer this way

I normally spent half - 1hr maximum to take pictures. If not satisfy, next day will try again.
me too, I one hand press the camera button the other hand move a lot to scare the fish, so when they swim left than I change hand...but still cannot catch nice pose...really need expert help..

anyway i think if you like your scaping than don't bother what ranking number cause I saw some low ranking scaping look nicer.

Anyone notice ADA 2007, their is a China participant submitted twice with different name arrange and none of the judges notice it. Check the ranking #308 and #547.

It really make me feel that only those in top 100 get the attention, the remaining all just like throw dice number to get the ranking. How can a same pic getting so big different in ranking from the judges....???

Maybe once I free than will email ADA to let them know their mistake...

what you expect ith 1000 plus participats, must be very hard work to sort them out in a months or maybe less. I wonder if they look at the picture in detail one by one or they sort them first and then zoom in for detail on fist say top 100 entries

It must be quite tough, unless you were using tripod and wide angle lens where the distance between tank and camera were short.

Stan,

What sort of clamps would you recommend?

Actually, just off the top of my head..next year, we could do a collection of equipment, i.e. flashes that we can loan for the shoot..
I noted that the folks in CAU actually uses a tilt/shift lens for their photography. Well for now, it is just food for thought. If I am entering next year, I wonder if I can loan some canon flashes off you fellas or not...:: Wonders ::

That is a bad idea, because the fishes may not be at right possition when the shutter release.

I don't have any yet but I'm getting one of my friends to put one together. Those from the shops are too expensive and I don't have space to store it. I'm designing one that you can clamp onto the aquarium edge. So far I'm using people to hold the flashes for my 5ft tank. That didn't turn out well so I did not send out the tank and sent out my moss tank instead. Use existing light and supplement with flash to fill in the shadows.

Anyway guys, some pictures from the other side of the border over here.

Greetings friends. I am glad to congratulate all participants of competition ADA.Я I think that the main thing not a victory - the main participation in competition. I always with greater interest look through your forum and I scoop from it many useful ideas. In that that I have borrowed 306 place in competition there is also your merit. I ask me to forgive for my English. Yours faithfully Yury Bukhov.
