We can move that to Member's lounge if needed, but just started it here for everyone to read.

Why do we keep changing scape? Why do we like to get more and more plants? Why can't we get the hands off the tank water for 1 weekend?

Are we so creative? or just impatience?

Think I never had a tank which I've kept for more than a year without tearing it down and starting anew.

Right now, I am very tempted to change my scape (substrate, plants, hardscape) of my 4 feet tank, even though it was newly scaped in mid june. Not that it is not sustainable (mine is java ferns), but now very tempted to try HC, glosso, hairgrass, or even APP.

    Cheers, Christophe

Im forced to rescape my newly setup 3 footer... all because of the mess I created while trying the catch the 2 mid-size SAEs!!

1 leasson I learned... SAE are notorious for munching on the moss and leave if there's not enough algea in the tank to satistify their appetite

So.no more SAEs for me again this time...

I use to change my scape every few months when i started out with nano cubes. But as i go along i realise that while changing scapes frequently can fulfill the urge to release pent up creative energy, there were missed opportunities for lessons to be learnt in dealing with mature tanks. That is the next step i would like to take though, i haven't had too many mature tanks as yet.

My 3 footer is going to a year soon

Since it's about aquascaping, I've moved it to the relevant section.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

This question hits me like an arrow

I think it's a combination of so many factors including the ease of getting flora/fauna. Inspirations keep coming up especially with all the ideas and beautiful tanks in the forums. Lastly, it's the lack of will to resist temptations.

at times, mature tanks looks much nicer than newly rescape tank or a few months old scape though..
