wow bro, good luck if you actually do have a pregnant sulawesi. from what i know, its hard to keep them alive even. then again, i'm just a newbie to shrimp keeping.

i think some of the "pro" shrimp keepers here might even pay to go to your house to test the water parameters.

Noticed those LFS selling them have chiller installed in the setup.

    Temperature control is very important.

chiller? why? arent they supposed to do better in higher temperatures around 28 to 29 degrees?

personally i dont think 7 bucks is expensive, the shrimps used to cost as expensive as 75 bucks per piece...look how much the price has dropped.

I assume that the difference between the tanks and setups of other shrimp keepers and mine is the GRAVEL...

I use CORAL sand and i add coral chips, both of these increases the pH, making it better for the sulawesi shrimps.

    My view:
Sulawesi shrimps are found in cool fast flow river about 1m deep good light, with plenty of hiding places, rocks and grasses.

The shrimps are free natural occuring in Indonesia and don't be shocked if the locals are being paid only $0.001 US dollar per shrimp!

See this web site and we will know what we are lacking all the while:

Maybe you should go and catch from the lake and they are totally free. Or buy at local, it is as good as free.

Cool fast flow river? Don't just look at pictures and assume. We already have discussion threads and stickies on the shrimps. Read the sticky.
Sulawesi Shrimps and other fancy Indonesian shrimps

And register and read this too.

Anyway, this thread is really a non-event, because at the end of it all, there still isn't enough relevant information on how better we can keep or breed them. We still don't know any better.

    Oh.

Never know there already is a thread on this topic. Next time will check, no point repeating the same questions

Well at least TS bothered to come back and explain the situation.
    I'm glad he did. thanks.

Anyway since you bought a sponge for your filter intake, hopefully there might be more baby shrimps from your sulawesi. (since you mention that you suspect that the babies might had fallen to the filter)
