I love all these herbs but sadly i can't grow any of them. How i wish i can grow them.

Do they need lots of watering? Full sunlight?

    Cheers!

My personal experience with lemon balm have been mixed. My lemon balm kept showing signs of leafs drying up...and I though they lack water, and guess what I added more water and soon it died on me..It turned out that root system was damaged and therefore cannot absorb water and hence the leaves were withering..

Basil and mint does love water...that's for sure.

I am very keen to get laksa leaves, next. Anyway, lemon balm can be made into tea and the leaves are good for headache relief.

Anyway, try Indian Borage. It is good for cough..effective.

All herbs require full sunlight, how much depends on the herb, some likes 4hrs while other 6hrs. My sweet basil is finally flowering and I can harvest the seeds , the thai basil is growing like weeds spreading it's "seeds of love" around the tray

Basil can handle moist soil, but the rest don't quite like it. So well-drained soil is also a must, i recommend the potting soil sold at Far east florist for $2 a bag.

Wynx, lemon balm is actually lemon mint, so should be the same as your other mint plant. I'm so addicted to the scent..... so lemony

another good recipe is 1 or 2 leaves from the lemon balm, a hot cup of water and honey to taste.

My lemon balm is partial shaded by the hibiscus and trying to push out of the shade, maybe time to repot the bugger into the tray. My laska plant is finally growing well, initially had some problems and I thought it died on me. The oregano is also picking up.

Also have to redo my yellow ginger, wrong soil media.. no wonder it hasn't want to grow. Next week I probably visit Oh farms at khatik, heard they sell quite a number of herbs. I'm looking for bay leave (I love stew) and more basil

It is quite a joy that herbs are readily available in the garden. What best is freshness!!! Pandan leaves for dessert, lime, chillie and my personal favorite BASIL!!!

Lemon balm is part of the mint family no doubt. The other one I had is those mint that you add in vietnamese hand rolls. Just chop it up and add to Vietnamese fish sauce, sugar and some lime to taste. Very yummy. Oh ya, the mint that I am talking about, I used it to make mint sauce for lamb chop just last month, smells really good.

    Space is limited.

Anyway, try chopped basil leaves with diced tomatoes, plus some chopped garlic and a dash of olive oil..and there you have tomatoes bruchetta. Nice!

Don't have full sunlight. So no chance of growing them.

    Shame.

Don't have, places which offer sunlight is where the windows panels are place. Quite dangerous + lots of other external factors that result in no go of planting in High Rise Building.

really a shame, so next time need a balcony that faces the sun to meet all the expectations.

    Cheers!

Wow, fresh oregano on demand for pizzas or Italian pasta dish... I'm hungry!

Always wanted to start a little herb garden but didn't really take the time to find out where to get them and all.
Nice to know some of the herbs you guys mentioned are able to grow in our climate.
I should start doing something about that soon...

I would like to volunteer my interest... I used to grow a number of different basil, rosemary and a variety of mints... Found that these plants do not age very well and you have to replant them from time to time...

I also tried sage, but it didnt grow too well...

Would love to get started again at some point in time...

Hmmm... isn't the fiery colour of chilli padi the same as beet?
    btw my favourite spice.
I can eat them "plain" from a dish of say souce.
But please don't ask me about the morning after!

    I guess that's a reason I'm still single...
    WAHAHAHAHa... *sigh*... *sniff*... *sigh*...

I have successfully grown sage under artificial lights , one of my mint is doing well too.
The rest in my garden is growing too big, I got 3 types of rosemary, added 3 more basal types to those I already have (cinnamon, lemon and spicy bush), the thyme I grew from seeds is finally growing nicely under full sun. I also got bay leaf which I constant use for stew.

Got lavender a few months back and someone donated a few seedlings. My dill flowered a few times so far, the most popular herb which my family uses the most has to be rosemary. I use basal more for pasta and my mom favorite is the leaves from the yellow ginger

beetroot, chilli padi is a basic necessity except I don't eat chilli anymore
