How to plant glossostigma elatinoides ?

How do you guys plant glosso in such away that they become like a carpet on the substrate. They always grow upwards. How do you achieve the horizontal growth instead of the vertical growth.Please enlighten.[]

initally I believe they need strong light to stay short, but since I planted glosso in my 4ft with jus 2.1watts per gal and I still got them to stay short and growing laterally.. one thing I observed, they need good water conditions, cool temp to thrive and of coz no blockage of light...

I search the net and I found this article.
Growing glosso article But I do not understand what it saying about pruning and bulbs.

greenhorn, the article state that pruning will keep the glosso short, but I prefer just stuffing them back into the gravel everytime I see them growing too tall.. the bulb is actually changing the light tube if its old...

how old is yr light tubes? wats yr total wattage? the size of yr tank

why don't you search the forum for more info in the plant...
i myself have asked about this plant manymany times...
but i've finally got it to carpet...

in my tank, it seems that the glosso will only carpet with low temp...
but this is in my tank lah... i've tried almost everything like changing my fl tubes to new ones, upgrading from fl to pl, then adding rootmonster, tried kh from 4-8, nothing worked...

others may not agree with me though...

read somewhere that a rich substrate helps glosso to creep rather than growing vertically.

Talking about glosso, I still failed to grow them well[]. Realised that those get shaded by drift wood or other plants actually grow better than those directly under the light. Those directly under the light tend to be attacked by BBA. Maybe the secret is still lies with cool temperature. Anyone with the same experience?

Mine started out quite slowly. i never keep check of the temp.
but once it grows, it grows very rapidly. haha!
heard tat it needs high light demands to grow well. in addition with CO2.
mine are starting to grow upwards le.
maybe add more vitamins?

Hey! Does anyone have extra? Im new to this hobby and don't know which is glossostigma at lfs.. They don't label it and the uncles don't understand what glosso is... Can spare some? 1ft nano tank 4gal only! With diyco2 and high lighting with GE fluorescent tubes (T4 x2 6W each) and inert gravel. can glosso carpet with my setup?
