Off topic: I thought it is the yellow fin cories that are toxin factories? i.e. Gossei, sterbai, suessi. Personally experienced with gossei, effect is quite fast and it affects other cories too.

I understand the the batch of black cory is rather small and these are the remaining of the whole batch which DOA at the importer's place. Small cory not stable. Good luck with them.

Oh yes, the yellow fin cories, C. gossei, C. sterbai are prone to expel the toxins readily. Almost forgot about this post I wrote earlier, http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...2&postcount=38

About the black cory, those that do survive may actually be tough cookies, hehe... survival of the fittest...

wonder if c328 or wu hu would provide some activated carbon to be put into the bags... thinking of going down to buy some cories this week but am unsure whether it's safe, especially since i'll be bringing them along to my 4ft tank when i move

It should not be a problem as long as you don't pour the water in the bag into your tank. Also before bagging them, this is what is recommended by Ian Fuller.

The other way would be to again collect the good water for transporting and then put some tank water into a small container catch and put the fish in there for a few minutes to give them time to react to being caught, then re-catch the fish and put them into the bag.

Actually, in my experience they don't always spew toxins into the water when disturbed. I think they only do it when badly panicked, disturbed or very stressed. If not, mine will be dead long time ago since I tend to move them around tanks. And the delivery man will be sending bags of dead gossei and sterbai to the LFS all the time.

Think you might be referring to Corydoras Atropersonatus.. The one with a white body with black spots which came in this afternoon one right?
