I think that there's something in your water parameter that makes your CRSs weak enough to be eaten by other shrimps. Or he/she has just moulted and became others' food =D
One of my crs died recently. Then few days later, we manage to find the real culprit and to our surpiseit was one of our red sakura shrimp. she was seen on top of the crs, happily chewing and eating the crs alive. Both the shrimp are of the same size. The beautiful sakura had just given birth no long ago .Did anyone seen such thing before??
. so scary and shocking.

Ya you are very right - the crs had just moulted before it was attacked.![]()
the CRS would be dying in order for a cherry/sakura to eat it, even having just moulted. however the Yamatoes (Caridina multidentata) are a lot bigger and aggressive and will catch and eat any cherry/CRS sized shrimps that has just moulted.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
hexazona · crumenatum · Galleria Botanica
for info, my crs was not weak and water parameter was ok. Both shrimp of the same size too.

I think it is ok as long as there is no casualty in your tank or dying without a reason.![]()
Um.. Sakura Shrimp are pretty aggressive. I had one kill a smaller Cherry sometime back.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
