Maybe you bought the emersed form... they will have to perform some serious adjustments in your tank... just a possibility.

I agree but those that make it didn't do as well as expected. Perhaps Peter can helps us with some plants physiology here

Can ferts "interventions" helps in lessening the effects from conversion in this case?

Updates of tank in 6weeks: Trying to grow dwarf HG lawn, added additional nana petite.

The e.tennellus are not growing compact even with high lights.

k3nlim, hi there. The first thing I thought of when I saw your tank was that it is cut in half. I normally do not comment on how to improve an Aquascape cause I like things growing all over the place so I can sit in front of my tank and let it surprise me.

But with your tank I am thinking that maybe you need to let yourself loose and fill her up I think it is the right side that is too empty or maybe somewhere in there you need a center piece (not that I am a fan of things like that)

Sorry about your algae issues. Just being curious, what algae do you have?

    Hi Loopy..thanks for your comments

I want to provide enough swimming space for my fishes that's one of the reason why i scape the tank like this and also to create a "grassland next to forrested area" feel. Will require the HG to grow abit more dense to enforce the idea.

Used to experience BBA and greenspot but after yesterday morning overdoes of excel by mistake have help to clear them almost to nil in the tank now.

My tank is hovering around 26 degrees and my HC doesn't seem to mind. I think you probably have it worse in the UK where your tempreature keeps fluctuating according to your seasons.

I am personally having that problem as well. Giving the fish space to swim, as my fish come first.

As for BBA, it is my mortal enemy I have been battling it at one corner of the tank; lately I have won and it is disappearing. I hit it with the Azoo anti algae liquid and Excel with a syringe

Hope the HC goes well dude, it can't work in my plant tank at work even with X6 10K 54W T5's raining down on it from the height of 2FT. But at work it is growing very very well. So at least I can enjoy it somewhere

Had created a dark area at the densely planted corner with floating plants so that the fishes can hide...will see if the floating plants can stand 2X 24W of T5HO because my previous plants got burnt

Fluctuating on a daily basis for apparently no reason whatsoever would be more accurate. Fog one day, then sunshine the next and possibly rain after Slightly exagerated ofcourse, but none-the-less

    Re: First 2ft Tank

Its always advisable to over filter, rather than under filter. For obvious reasons.

    Re: First 2ft Tank

Its better to use a much more powerful filter just in case if i want to upgrade. And for heavily planted, will require more power to circulate the water evenly within the tank.
