Karang Bay of Borneo

Teluk Karang or Karang Bay is a perfect spot to observe wildlife such as hornbill, pigmy squirrel (one of the smallest in the world) and a few species of monkey especially the proboscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus) which is endemic to Borneo.

In this trip, we met a Malay naturalist who was busying observing the birds & a troop of proboscis monkey. Unfortunately, we failed to see any of these monkeys. However, he pointed us a giant fig tree not far away which is a good spot to observe wild birds during the fruiting season in January of February of each year. During the fruiting season, there are more than hundred birds (including 2 species of hornbills) will gather there to eat the fruits. It'll looks like a big party of the jungle!!! We'll look forward to joining this party (to photograph the wildlife) for sure!

so good. If I live there every weekend I go nature exploration and bring home new fishes and animal home to keep.

ohhhhhhh I wish Singapore was more nature-ful. I could put that pretty snail in a glass vase in my shop (or office) and feed it with veggy every day..........just dreaming aloud
